Acuity Continues to Foster Financial Expertise with CFA Society Sri Lanka

Acuity Knowledge Partners (Acuity), a leading provider of bespoke research, analytics and technology solutions to the financial services sector, has reaffirmed its commitment to fostering financial expertise in Sri Lanka through an ongoing partnership with the CFA Society Sri Lanka.

Acuity has been the official training partner for the CFA Research Challenge in Sri Lanka for the past 5 years, providing fully fledged training on financial modeling and investment report writing for the participants. This year’s program covered content on industry analysis, financial modeling, revenue and cost drivers, forecasting, balancing financial models, relative and discounted cash flow valuation, and investment note writing.

“We’re pleased to partner with CFA Society Sri Lanka for the Research Challenge Trophy and provide future analysts with the skills needed to excel in their careers,” said Jehan Jeyaratnam, Country Head, Acuity Knowledge Partners Sri Lanka. “Our continued involvement over the years underscores our dedication to equipping young professionals with practical insights and expertise in financial research and credit analysis.”

The training programme was conducted by Rihab Faisal, Assistant Director and Head of Training of Acuity Knowledge Partners Sri Lanka and was held at Acuity office premises at the World Trade Center, Colombo in two batches spanning two weeks. With more than 50 undergraduates participating onsite and an additional 40 attending online, this year’s training programme for the CFA Research Challenge Trophy was Acuity’s largest to date.

This initiative aims to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and professional finance practice by providing undergraduates participating in the CFA Research Challenge with exposure to financial modeling and investment expertise. All competition participants are given the opportunity to understand what is required to successfully compete and strive for victory in this highly competitive trophy where multiple teams of university undergraduates compete.

Nuwan Jayawardana, Head of Campus Engagement Program and Director Buy-Side Investment Research at Acuity Knowledge Partners, emphasized the partnership’s broader goals: “As one of the largest employers of CFA charter holders in Sri Lanka, we are committed to promoting the highest standards in finance and investment analysis. Our collaboration with CFA Society Sri Lanka highlights our aim of building a well-prepared workforce that meets global industry standards.”
