Fems Aya, the nationwide initiative of Fems – a leading Hygiene Care brand of Hemas Consumer Brands, is celebrating its second anniversary of impacting lives and communities by offering awareness on menstrual health and equal access to low-cost, high-quality sanitary napkins. The purposeful initiative was first launched on International Women’s Day – March 8th, 2021.
Since then, Fems Aya has covered 18 regions across Sri Lanka, spreading awareness on proper menstrual health and hygiene to local communities, including rural villages, plantation workers, corporate offices, and the youth, and making affordable sanitary napkins affordable to all. The programme has already reached over 10,000 girls and women. Moreover, the initiative is also designed to help educate men on menstruation as they play a crucial role in normalizing the conversation and breaking the stigma surrounding the topic.
