VMware Sharpens Focus on Sri Lanka and Nascent Markets with Appointment of New Regional Head of Channels

  • New appointment will further accelerate cloud and digital transformation journeys for customers in  fast-growing, dynamic markets in Asia including Sri Lanka

VMware, Inc. (NYSE: VMW), a leading innovator in enterprise software, today announced the appointment of Venkatesh Murali as Head of Channels, Nascent and Vietnam. Armed with almost two decades of solutions sales and channel development experience, Venkatesh will focus on driving VMware’s growth in Sri Lanka and other developing markets by delivering VMware’s industry-leading innovations to help organizations in the region build, run, manage, connect and protect their businesses for an increasingly digital future.

Prior to joining VMware, Venkatesh was Head of Software Defined Infrastructure, Central Asia Pacific for Lenovo Enterprise Solutions, where he led the Software Defined Solutions & Datacenter sales strategy for governments, corporations, and small and medium businesses across the region. He also built and led the customer advisory team for Enterprise Solutions while Head of Global Computing and Networking Solutions at Dell Global BV. He joins a strong stable of VMware Channel and Partner leaders for the wider region that includes Fan Qu, director, Partner Business, Southeast Asia and Korea, as well as Uma Thana Balasingam vice president and channel chief, Asia Pacific and Japan.
